His Brain, Designed to Conquer

Summary of this article

Here is another example of gender information about the biology of men's physical bodies. Of course this is a broad generalization, but it is a scientific fact.

His Brain, Designed to Conquer

By Walt Larimore

According to the Bible, Adam, the first man, was not formed in the tame, serene garden of Eden.  Rather, he was crafted in the rough-and-tumble wilderness before the garden was created.

Maybe that's part of the reason why, when I was a little boy, I felt most at home in the forests and fields playing the part of soldier, explorer, conqueror, and hero.

The Science of It

Many studies have shown that a man's aggressive behavior is linked with two neurohormones.  The first is testosterone - associated with impulsivity and spontaneous aggression - and the second is serotonin

When compared to women, men have more testosterone and less serotonin, especially in the decision-making frontal cortex.

In addition, the functional brain scans of the area of the limbic associated with aggression show greater activity in men than in women.  Women have greater activity in the area of the brain associated with reduced aggression.

So What?

These biologic differences are critical for women to understand because boys, and the men they grow up to be, have brains that are built to be more aggressive, more impulsive, and more assertive.

They are compelled to discover their calling and meaning in life.  They are made to conquer the world around them - even from the earliest age.
