Love Needs To Be Intentional To Be Lasting by Dr. Gary Chapman Love doesn't need to diminish after the wedding. After more than thirty years as a marriage counselor, I'm convinced that most couples really do love each other. The problem is that they don't understand that what makes one person feel loved is not what makes another person feel loved. So he is saying, "I love you. I love you." And she is thinking, "If you love me why don't you wash the dishes tonight." His love language is Words of Affirmation but her love language is Acts of Service. Learning to speak your spouse's love language is the key to keeping love alive after the wedding. Learning a new love language will take effort and discipline, but the reward is a lasting deeply committed relationship.
