We All Need Encouragement

We desperately need to encourage and affirm each other. If you don't, who will? Our bosses and coworkers? Don't count on it!

Our children and teenagers? Ridiculous! How many children walk in and say, "Mom and Dad, I want to express my appreciation to you for your consistent discipline and for refusing to let me do certain things I want to do because you know they are not in my best interest?"

Will our friends build us up? If we're fortunate they might, but we can't count on it.

Our mates need our encouragement. You can positively influence your mate if you choose to build up instead of tear down.

Here are three tips to get you started:   

  * Look for the positive.

  * Develop a sense of humor.

  * Give honest praise.
